In most instances on older installations, particularly steam or HPHW, the replacement of leaking or faulty valves becomes a major operation necessitating the modification of pipework to suit new flange configurations or dimensions.
Maracom Boiler Maintenance are able to offer a valve refurbishment service whereby valves are removed from position and taken to our workshops for overhaul and testing including:-
- Seat lapping
- Face grinding
- Stuffing box refurbishment
- Repacking
- Shaft renewal.
- Repainting
- Pressure testing and certification
This service is usually undertaken in less time than delivery and installation of new valves can be done and costs, on average, less than 75% of a replacement valve.
